According to people's reflection, the road about 1.2km long is now becoming a place for gathering construction machinery, waste and materials, turning this area into an environmental "black spot".
The new Provincial Road 70 is being built parallel to the old road. Some items such as road surface paving have been implemented, but the project is currently suspended. The area has become messy, many locations have been turned into landfills, interspersed with construction machinery gathering places.
Mr. Ngo Trung Tuan (residing in Mieu Nha, Tay Mo ward) said that although the new road has not been put into operation, because the old road is often congested, many people still go to the road under construction, where machinery encroaches, causing danger to road users.

According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in the new road section through Mieu Nha, in addition to being occupied as a place to gather machinery and waste, many manholes with missing covers have only been given sories, not ensuring safety for people.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Chinh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Mo Ward - said that provincial road 70 through the area has two projects: the first is the project to build a part of route 70 (the section from ivory bridge to the end of the boundary of the international education village project) and the route around the international education village; The second is the project to build the road along Cau Nga river.

Of which, the project to build a part of route 70 with a total length of 1.2km, invested by the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, has been behind schedule since 2020. The reason is that there is still a problem with the site of a household that has not been relocated.
For the Cau Nga riverside road, the Nam Tu Liem District Investment and Construction Project Management Board is implementing construction from Nhue Giang residential group to Mieu Nha. The construction has caused the area of rocks and soil to be messy and dusty, affecting people's lives.

Since the end of January 2025, the People's Committee of Tay Mo Ward has coordinated with environmental units to organize garbage collection and waste, and at the same time regularly reminded households not to let machinery encroach on sidewalks and roadsides. However, recurrence still occurs. The local government is committed to continuing to inspect and handle violations.
Sharing the same view, a representative of Xuan Phuong Ward People's Committee said that in addition to the Provincial Road 70 project, there is another project in the area that started construction in 2012, which has not yet been completed due to many reasons. Although the site has been partially cleared, the investor has not returned the site to the locality, causing difficulties in management.
The People's Committees of wards have repeatedly proposed the investor to speed up the progress, solve the problem completely, but the results are not as expected. In the immediate future, the locality asked the police force to patrol regularly to prevent the stealing garbage, and remind business households and purchase materials to comply with the regulations on urban order.

Regarding the Project to build part of Road 70, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that up to now, only 59,786.98m2/67,383.9m2 of site has been handed over. Currently, more than 5,500m2 of residential and agricultural land has not been handed over.
Notably, on 7.2.2024, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Document No. 1636/VP-DT requesting the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District to hand over the clean ground before June 30, 2024 to implement the construction and ensure the project progress. However, up to now - nearly 8 months after the time limit mentioned above - The site clearance has not been completed, causing the project to continue slowly, leading to a series of consequences of urban order, environmental sanitation and traffic safety.
