When the fireworks display lights up the sky of Da Nang at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2025 ended, people crowded back, leaving behind bottles, plastic cups, nylon bags... scattered everywhere.
Instead of leaving, many young people voluntarily and quietly go against the flow of people coming and going, collecting nylon bags and plastic bottles and putting them in trash bins. Bringing sacks and gloves, volunteers move into small groups to pick up trash along the streets along the Han River.
Not rushing home, Le Van Thong (An Hai Bac ward, Da Nang) stayed behind to pick up the plastic bottles and nylon bags left on the sidewalk. Le Van Thong shared: "I moved up so that the environmental worker would have less hardship. I am a resident of Da Nang, so I come to see the fireworks every year. I am also aware that cleaning up trash is my responsibility to spread the positive image of Da Nang city in the eyes of tourists.
"After seeing the fireworks, I saw too much trash, so I picked it up with everyone. I just hope to keep Da Nang a green, clean, beautiful city in the eyes of tourists and especially in big festivals like this - Tran Hoang Bao Tram, student of Da Nang University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said.
"As young people in the military environment, after each major event of the city, we always try to contribute a part, no matter how small, to keep the environment and landscape of Da Nang green, clean and beautiful" - Lieutenant Hoang Van Vien, Captain of the Armed Forces Team of Son Tra Border Guard Station, Da Nang Border Guard, said.
Previously, Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company also called on people and tourists not to littered, limit the use of single-use plastic products; collect waste after the end of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025. At the same time, he called on friends, relatives and people around to participate in environmental protection, sharing a part of the work of environmental workers so that they can soon complete the cleaning of streets and sidewalks.
