Ho Chi Minh City prioritizes organizing events at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, and events on Le Loi street must be approved by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a document directing to strengthen management and rectify event organization in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, especially in Saigon and Ben Thanh wards.

According to the direction, the organization of events on Le Loi and Nguyen Hue streets must be carried out according to the annual plan approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

The city prioritizes organizing activities at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.

Cases of unexpected organization outside the plan or event organization on Le Loi street must have the approval of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to take the lead in developing the annual event organization plan, submitting it for approval and implementing it in accordance with regulations.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports must develop a set of specific criteria on program content, organizational scale, sound, lighting, hygiene, environment... as a basis for consideration and licensing, in order to limit the situation of rampant and uncontrolled organization.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Saigon Ward, Ben Thanh Ward and related units are responsible for supervising the area and promptly handling violations.

The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has the task of monitoring, inspecting and advising on handling according to regulations.

Previously, at the socio-economic meeting on February 27, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that in the past, the dense organization of fairs, exhibitions, and trade events on Nguyen Hue and Le Loi streets has caused many consequences. In many times, traffic in the central area has fallen into serious congestion.

In addition, crowded activities also cause noise pollution, affecting the daily life of residents in the central area.

Regarding Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc said that events can still be organized, but they should only be reserved for important city programs, avoiding the situation of organizing indiscriminately and densely.

Organizing too much will cause noise pollution, making people uncomfortable. There are nights when there is almost no space for people to walk properly. Pedestrian street but cannot walk because events and fairs are crowded" - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized.

According to the head of the city government, Ho Chi Minh City does not lack resources to the point of having to take advantage of central roads to organize too many commercial events.

How much is collected, while causing trouble for people, terrible traffic jams. International tourists are probably also very inconvenient" - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee raised the issue.
