Ngoc Ha Ward People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement solutions to overcome bottlenecks in environmental pollution in the ward.
According to Ngoc Ha Ward People's Committee, there are still some garbage collection points in the ward that are not in the right places; the sorting of domestic waste has not been seriously implemented. Along with that, there is a large number of vehicles circulating in the ward, leading to high smoke and dust; some civil works are not properly covered.
To overcome the problem of air pollution, the ward will strengthen the management and control of dust sources in the area; request households, individuals, and construction units to cover works, construction materials, and sanitize construction areas according to regulations.
The Ward People's Committee coordinates with Ba Dinh Urban Environment Company branch to organize sweeping, collecting garbage, cleaning streets and sidewalks; increasing the frequency of collecting, sweeping, and washing roads on main roads, densely populated areas, and areas where dust often occurs.
Along with that, inspect and strictly handle cases of vehicles transporting construction materials that are scattered, uncovered, causing dust spread and environmental pollution.
Strengthen propaganda, reminders, and request people to stop burning domestic waste, burning other waste causing air pollution. Organize inspections and strictly handle violations; assign responsibility to residential groups to detect and promptly report illegal waste burning acts.
The Ward People's Committee stipulates that every month there is at least one weekend, all agencies, businesses and residential groups simultaneously organize environmental cleanup activities: cleaning up garbage in areas near residences or workplaces, such as vacant land, sewers, canals, public areas.
Regarding solutions to strengthen the management of domestic solid waste, the Ward People's Committee conducts reviews and rearrangements of the garbage collection point system in the area; eliminates spontaneous and improper garbage collection points. Coordinate with garbage collection units to adjust the collection time and frequency to suit reality; ensure that domestic waste is thoroughly collected during the day, without prolonged accumulation.
Strengthen the collection and transportation of domestic waste in the area, ensuring 100% of waste is collected and transported within the day, ensuring environmental sanitation at waste collection points. Strengthen inspection and handling for cases of letting waste in the wrong places in residential areas causing unsightliness and environmental pollution. The Ward People's Committee assigns residential groups to directly supervise, remind and reflect violations.
Propagate, guide and invest in infrastructure to implement waste sorting at source in households, residential areas, agencies, schools, offices, public areas... Pilot models of collecting sorted waste at some apartment buildings, then replicate" - the plan clearly stated.
Regarding solutions to strengthen the management of solid construction waste, the ward requires household owners and construction site owners to sign commitments not to illegally dump waste; organize self-collection and transportation to legally accepted places according to regulations.
At the same time, strictly control environmental pollution in construction activities of households in residential areas in the area; organize inspections and strictly handle cases of illegal dumping of solid construction waste; handle the responsibility of the originating source, not only handle transporters...
Regarding solutions to improve the water environment and drainage system, the Ward People's Committee reviews, dredges, and clears sewers and drainage ditches; handles pollution points and bottlenecks causing environmental unsanitary conditions.
Along with that, continue to prioritize projects to renovate and upgrade roads and water collection and drainage systems in residential areas, ensuring good drainage to overcome flooding. Publicize violations such as dumping garbage, illegal discharge through applications or hotlines...
