Accordingly, the total population according to population management data throughout the province is 3,944,347 people.
Among them, ethnic groups with a large population living in the province include: Kinh ethnic group with 2,892,987 people, Muong ethnic group 858,524 people, San Diu ethnic group 46,823 people, Thai ethnic group 42,302 people, Dao ethnic group 39,919 people, Tay ethnic group 38,110 people.
The total number of households according to the results of the review of poor and near-poor households in 2024 is 997,683 households. Of which, the number of Kinh ethnic households is 753,218 households, and the number of ethnic minority households is 244,465 households.
According to the review results, the total number of poor households and near-poor households in 2024 is 65,524 households. Of which, there are 31,488 poor households (Kinh ethnic poor households 11,375 households, ethnic minority poor households 20,113 households); 34,036 near-poor households (Kinh ethnic group 13,202 households, ethnic minority 20,834 households).
Ethnic groups with the highest poverty and near-poverty rates in the province: Cham ethnic group (14 people): 1/1 household, rate 100%; Tay ethnic group (38,110 people) 3,297/8,507 households, rate 38.8%; Hmong ethnic group (9,149 people) 668/1,740 households, rate 38.4%; Dao ethnic group (39,919 people) 2,707/8,672 households, rate 31.2%; Tho ethnic group (359 people) 29/98 households, rate 29.6%.
