On the morning of December 11, at the Provincial Conference Center, the 17th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, solemnly opened the 9th Session.
At the opening session, Mr. Lai Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee presented a report on socio-economic development in 2024, goals, tasks and main solutions in 2025.
Accordingly, in 2024, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Thai Binh province focused on leading and directing the serious and synchronous implementation of the Central's guidelines, policies, and directions.
With the high determination of the entire political system, the comprehensive, close and timely leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council; the proactive, drastic and focused direction and administration of the Provincial People's Committee; the active participation of all levels, sectors, localities, agencies and units in the province; the consensus and support of the people and the business community, the socio-economic situation of the province has basically stabilized and achieved some positive results.
Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated at VND 71,326 billion, up 7.01% compared to 2023. Total production value is estimated at VND 210,455 billion, up 6.92% compared to 2023.
The construction of advanced new rural areas continues to receive attention and direction in a practical and effective manner. During the year, 13 more communes achieved advanced new rural areas, 2 communes achieved model new rural areas, bringing the total number of communes in the province to 40 communes achieving advanced new rural areas, 2 communes achieving model new rural areas; at the same time, 18 communes formed after the arrangement were recognized to meet new rural standards in 2024.
Investment promotion and attraction work has been directed to be effectively implemented. As of November 20, Thai Binh province has attracted VND38,088.1 billion in investment capital, including 154 production and business investment projects with a total registered capital of VND26,444 billion, up 26.2% over the same period; foreign direct investment (FDI) capital reached USD958 million (estimated to attract over USD1 billion of FDI capital for the whole year).
To date, Thai Binh province has 7,634 enterprises and 3,143 branches, representative offices, and business locations in operation with a total registered capital of over 120,000 billion VND.

The disbursement of public investment capital continues to achieve good results. Key projects have focused resources and been directed to accelerate progress. The province has directed to remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks in attracting investment and difficulties and obstacles for businesses in a practical and effective manner.
The cultural and social fields have had positive changes, being directed comprehensively and substantially to meet the requirements of economic development and serve the spiritual life of the people well; paying attention to directing and implementing fully and promptly the work of ensuring social security, especially during the Lunar New Year and commemorating the War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
Discipline and administrative discipline in state agencies are strengthened. Administrative reform work is seriously directed and implemented. Focusing on directing the implementation of the task of arranging commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023 - 2025, the people highly agree in the organization and implementation.
The work of receiving citizens and handling complaints and denunciations has been maintained in a regular and effective manner. National defense and security work has been strengthened, political security has been maintained, social order and safety have been ensured; military recruitment targets have been successfully completed; the Provincial Civil Defense and Search and Rescue Exercise has been successfully organized, responding to strong storms and super storms in 2024.
