The above information was announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Board) on the afternoon of November 13.
Expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway
The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department said that the project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway (from An Phu intersection to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2) will start construction on November 20, 2025.
The route is 3.2 km long, with a total investment of more than VND915 billion from the city budget. The project will be expanded from 4 to 8 lanes, with a road surface width of 36 m. The bridges on the route such as Muong Kenh Bridge and Do Xuan Hop Overpass will also be expanded to 37 m.

Expected to be completed in 2027, this project will be synchronized with other key projects such as the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway, An Phu intersection and My Thuy intersection.
These projects will reduce traffic pressure in the East, enhance direct connectivity with Long Thanh International Airport.
Two sections of Ring Road 2 start construction in December
The two Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 projects, including the section from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap 3.5 km long) and the section from Vo Nguyen Giap to Pham Van Dong (2.8 km long), will start construction in December 2025.
These two projects have a total investment of more than VND13,800 billion, of which the cost of site clearance accounts for VND8,600 billion.
Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 is planned to be 67 m wide, initially constructing two parallel roads on both sides, with three lanes on each side, the land in the middle of the route will be reserved for expansion in the next phase.

According to the plan, these two sections of Ring Road 2 will be completed on April 30, 2027.
When put into operation, these two sections will connect major port areas such as Cat Lai, Phu Huu, Truong Tho, contributing to reducing inner-city congestion and expanding urban development space to the East of Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Khoi Bridge and Road Construction Started in December
The Nguyen Khoi bridge and road project with a total investment of more than VND 3,724 billion will also start construction in December 2025. Of which, the cost of compensation, resettlement support and relocation of technical infrastructure accounts for VND1,392 billion; the construction cost is VND1,619 billion.
Compensation work is currently being implemented in District 4 (formerly) with 147 affected cases, including 21 organizations and 126 households.

Nguyen Khoi Street Bridge is designed with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, over 2.5 km long, 6.5 - 25.5 m wide. The bridge over the Te Canal and Ben Nghe Canal connects District 7 (formerly) with District 1 (formerly).
In addition to the main bridge, the project also includes items such as the bridgehead road more than 1.1 km long (cross-section of 6.5 - 35 m), Nguyen Khoi service road 626 m long, 26.5 - 30 m wide, two Hoang Trong Mau service roads 222 m long, 9 m wide on each side. The project also renovated and expanded the Vo Van Kiet road section towards Ben Nghe canal, 863 m long.
When completed, Nguyen Khoi Bridge and Road will form a new traffic axis connecting the South with the center of Ho Chi Minh City, allowing vehicles to move continuously through a overpass, completely connecting to Vo Van Kiet Avenue.
The project is expected to help reduce the load on the Nguyen Huu Tho - Kenh Te, Duong Ba Trac, and Nguyen Tat Thanh routes.
