Currently, many gas stations in Ho Chi Minh City have begun to switch to trading E10 bio-gasoline, marking a new step in the green fuel roadmap.
Records at some points of sale show that when people come to fill up with gasoline, they are introduced to E10 gasoline by staff and most of them accept using it.
Mr. Hoang Minh Nguyen (resident of Gia Dinh ward) said that in the past, he mainly used mineral gasoline, so when he heard about switching to bio-gasoline, he was also a little worried about its suitability for old motorbikes.
However, if functional agencies and businesses have inspected safety, I am also willing to use it because this is cleaner fuel, good for the environment" - Mr. Minh Nguyen said.
At key enterprises and large distribution systems, the transition to E10 gasoline business is being accelerated to ensure stable supply for the market.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Store Manager of Petrolimex Store No. 3 - said that from May 15, the store will start switching from RON95-V gasoline to E10 bio-gasoline. From the beginning of next week, the store will stop trading mineral gasoline to switch to selling 100% E10 gasoline.
According to Mr. Tuan, this new fuel is a mixture of 90% traditional mineral gasoline and 10% ethanol (biological alcohol).
Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Xuan Phuong - Store Manager of Petrolimex Store No. 6 - said that right from the start of deploying E10 gasoline sales, the store has received many positive feedbacks from customers. The average monthly consumption output reaches about 80m3.
From May 15, the store started switching to trading E10 gasoline. Currently, the store is still selling all the old RON 95 gasoline remaining in the tank, but the remaining amount is not much to prepare for the complete conversion process.
According to forecasts, today, the store will complete the switch to selling all E10 gasoline. Mr. Phuong expects consumers to continue to support this fuel because this is an environmentally friendly gasoline line, contributing to the green consumption trend.
Information from Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/PLX) said that the company's gas station system has been trading E10 gasoline since the end of April. By May 15, the coverage reached about 80% of the stores and it is expected to complete the conversion to trading E10 gasoline on May 20.
Assessing the reality after more than 8 months of selling E10 gasoline in Ho Chi Minh City, the market has not recorded any incidents or feedback from consumers related to fuel quality. Consumption output during the pilot period increased by about 40% compared to the initial phase, showing increasingly positive reactions from consumers. Currently, E10 gasoline business output reaches about 3,000-4,000m3/day.
On May 15, Vietnam Oil Corporation - JSC (PVOIL) also officially deployed the business of E10 biofuel at nearly 1,000 gas stations nationwide, marking a major shift in the roadmap for biofuel development and green energy transition in Vietnam.
According to PVOIL, all preparations for the deployment of E10 gasoline business nationwide have been completed, from blending infrastructure, storage, transportation to distribution systems and plans to ensure raw material supply for large-scale blending.
Before the simultaneous deployment, PVOIL's gas stations have completed the review and fully prepared technical conditions such as tanks, pumps, pipes and measuring equipment. Product information updates on pumps have also been deployed synchronously. At the same time, the cleaning of tanks, inspection of sealability and assessment of compatibility of equipment with E10 gasoline have been carried out.
