Ho Chi Minh City proposes 106 billion VND to build a Southern Resistance Monument

HCMC - The Southern Resistance Monument project with an estimated cost of more than 106 billion VND will be built at 23/9 Park (District 1).

At the 20th session of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on the morning of December 9, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee submitted a proposal to approve the investment policy for the construction of the Southern Resistance Monument.

The project has a total investment of 106 billion VND from the city budget, expected to be completed in the period 2024 - 2026.

The project includes three main items: Construction of the Southern Resistance Monument and surrounding landscape; technical infrastructure systems such as water supply and drainage, electricity, trees; installation of an artistic lighting system, creating a solemn space in harmony with the city center area.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Southern Resistance Monument is a symbolic work, aiming to engrave the resilient revolutionary spirit of the people of the city and the South, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The project aims to honor and pay tribute to revolutionary soldiers, heroic martyrs and those who have devoted themselves to the cause of independence, freedom and national reunification.

The monument also represents the will, determination and indomitable spirit of the entire Party, army and people, both recognizing their achievements and contributing to educating revolutionary traditions for generations.

Not only does it have historical and cultural value, this project also creates a solemn space in harmony with the urban landscape and cultural and historical works in the city center. This will be an artistic highlight to attract tourists, contributing to enhancing the cultural value and urban beauty of Ho Chi Minh City.
