Tan Son Nhat airport arrival terminal is crowded with passengers on the 7th day of Tet
On February 23 (ie, the 7th day of Lunar New Year), the Airport Operations Center informed that the operating intensity at the port during the day was recorded at a very high level. Specifically, the airport is expected to operate 1,038 flights, serving a total of 171,022 passengers.

Metro Line 1 welcomes more than 571,000 passengers in 7 Tet days
On February 23, Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company Limited No. 1 (HURC) said that in 7 days of the 2026 Lunar New Year (from February 16 to February 22, i.e. December 29 to the end of the 6th day of Tet), Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) served 571,528 passengers.
This figure exceeded 42% compared to the set plan and reached 94.4% compared to the same period in 2025. During the above period, the metro line operated 1,801 train trips, reaching 100% of the plan, an increase of 39% compared to the same period last year.
Notably, the number of visitors tended to increase sharply from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet and remained at a high level. On February 21, 2026 alone (the 5th day of Tet), 96,320 visitors were recorded - the highest level in the first 6 days of service at the beginning of the year. See more...
Handling 4,798 cases of alcohol concentration violations in Ho Chi Minh City in 9 days of Tet
On February 23, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that in 9 peak days of ensuring traffic order and safety during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 (from February 13 to February 21), the force discovered and handled more than 10,200 violations.
Accordingly, traffic police have temporarily seized 5 cars, 4,636 motorbikes and 301 other vehicles; notified cold fines in more than 970 cases; revoked the right to use driver's licenses in 950 cases, and deducted points from driver's licenses in 1,641 cases.
Regarding the alcohol and drug concentration topic alone, functional forces handled more than 4,800 cases, including 4,798 cases of alcohol concentration violations and 23 cases of drug violations; and handled 4 cases of overload violations. See more...
