During peak hours, the Traffic Police Department maintains 24/24 hour duty, monitoring and handling traffic situations through camera systems, hotlines and coordinating regulation at key gateways and expressways. Thanks to proactive plans, during the 9-day Tet holiday, the traffic situation in the area was basically controlled, without prolonged congestion.
Regarding traffic accidents, Ho Chi Minh City recorded 28 cases (including collisions), causing 12 deaths and 16 injuries, a decrease in all three criteria compared to the same Tet period last year. Railway and inland waterway accidents did not occur.
In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department said it will continue to strengthen patrols, strictly handle violations, and promote propaganda to maintain traffic order and safety in the area.
