On September 13, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities are at risk of deep flooding in many places due to heavy rain combined with high tides.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the coming days, the intertropical convergence zone is currently weakening, but from September 17, it is likely to become strong again and have locations passing through the South Central Coast - Southern region. Therefore, Southern Vietnam is forecast to have more rain again from September 17, with the possibility of another widespread heavy rain.

In the afternoon of September 13, Ho Chi Minh City needs to be wary of the risk of deep and widespread flooding due to heavy rain combined with high tides. Water levels at Phu An, Nha Be and Thu Dau Mot stations reached 1.61 m, 1.60 m and 1.72 m respectively, all at alarm level III.

In the coming days, the water level at most stations on the Saigon River is forecast to change slowly in the first 1-2 days, then decrease but still maintain at a high level. The highest tide level of the day at alarm level I - II is likely to last until the end of September 16, 2026.

Functional agencies warn that it is necessary to be wary of heavy rain combined with high tides causing flooding in low-lying areas and riverside areas, affecting traffic and socio-economic activities in Ho Chi Minh City.
