After more than 2 months of operation, the Bach Mai Express train gradually stabilized, serving more than 500 passengers per trip, mainly officials and doctors of Bach Mai Hospital working at Ninh Binh facility.
Bach Mai Express trains, codes PL1 and PL2, officially operated from June 26, to meet the travel needs of officials, doctors and nurses of Bach Mai Hospital between Hanoi and Ninh Binh facility.
According to the schedule, the train departs from Hanoi station at 6:15 am, picks up passengers at Giap Bat station and arrives at Phu Ly station at 7:22 am. Here, passengers are arranged for a shuttle bus to Bach Mai Hospital in Ninh Binh.
Organizing a fixed itinerary helps officials and doctors to be proactive in travel time, especially those who have schedules for examination, treatment and work according to specific hours.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung - Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital said that ensuring travel time is important for the medical team. Compared to roads and railways, it helps reduce dependence on traffic congestion, thereby supporting hospitals to be more proactive in arranging personnel.
The train is organized with 9 soft seated carriages, air conditioned. During the journey, officials, doctors and nurses can rest, have breakfast or handle work before starting the working day.
After the initial exploitation period, the number of passengers using the train gradually increased, currently maintaining at over 500 passengers per trip.
Faced with increased travel demand, from September, the railway industry added a 64-seat carriage to the train.
The addition of carriages aims to increase service capacity and meet the travel needs of officials and doctors on the Hanoi - Ninh Binh route.
According to the railway industry, Bach Mai Express and Hai Phong civil service trains are initial models showing the ability to organize trains to serve groups of passengers with regular and stable travel needs.
Instead of operating according to a common method, the schedule and service plan are built based on the specific needs of each passenger group. This may be a direction for the railway industry to study and expand for officials, civil servants, workers, laborers, students in localities with appropriate needs.
The fact that a part of officials and doctors switched from personal vehicles to railways also contributed to reducing the number of vehicles circulating on the Hanoi - Ninh Binh road, especially during peak hours.
The Bach Mai Express model thereby adds another travel option for officials and doctors of Bach Mai Hospital, and is also the basis for the railway industry to research transport products suitable to the actual needs of passengers.
