The above information was announced by Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy at a meeting on taking care of the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, held on January 26.
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that this year's Tet gift-giving plan is built with a wide scope, ensuring full care, for the right subjects, according to regulations, and at the same time avoiding duplication, ensuring practicality and humanity.
According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City will organize many activities at the city level such as: Visiting, wishing Tet and giving gifts to typical individuals, veteran revolutionary cadres, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, intellectuals, religious dignitaries, and people with prestige among ethnic minorities.
In addition, there are delegations visiting and giving gifts to Army, Police, Border Guard units; specialized medical and educational facilities; social protection facilities, drug rehabilitation facilities; artists, athletes, elderly intellectuals and forces on Tet duty.
For cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers working in Ho Chi Minh City, the city is giving Tet gifts to 214,430 people, each person 2 million VND.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City continues to allocate large resources to care for policy beneficiaries and social security managed by communes, wards, and special zones.
The city gives Tet gifts to 210,008 people with meritorious services to the revolution, divided into 12 groups of subjects, with gifts ranging from 1 million VND to 10 million VND/gift; 348,600 people enjoying monthly social insurance benefits; 1,228 people with prestige among ethnic minorities; 6,031 poor households and 410,843 social protection beneficiaries living in the community.
At the same time, the city organized delegations of leaders to visit and give gifts to 672 typical individuals in 168 communes, wards and the Con Dao special zone.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that the total budget for Tet care this year is estimated at about 2,200 billion VND, with the number of beneficiaries and support levels both increasing compared to previous years.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Home Affairs to advise and organize delegations to visit and wish Tet to policy families, ensuring solemnity, meaning, and economy; at the same time, pay attention to Tet care for households subject to site clearance to serve key projects and works in the area.
