On April 17, Mr. Le Van Han - Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee - said that the consultation of voters on the Provincial-level Administrative Units (ADUs) and the content of the Provincial Commune-level ADUs is implemented according to Plan No. 44/KH-UBND, dated April 11, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the plan, communes, wards and towns agreed to collect voters' opinions for 2 days (September 17 and 18), by April 19, districts, towns and cities will synthesize the results of the consultation and send samples to the Department of Home Affairs before 5:00 p.m. on April 20.
Accordingly, based on the Central Government's guiding viewpoint, Tra Vinh province will develop a plan and project to arrange 104 commune-level administrative units (85 communes, 09 wards and 10 towns) into 41 grassroots-level administrative units (including 35 communes and 06 wards), reducing the number of commune-level administrative units by 60.58% according to regulations.
Regarding the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, merge Tra Vinh province, Vinh Long province, Ben Tre province into a new province named Vinh Long province; The political - administrative center is located in the current Vinh Long province.
The implementation of collecting voters' opinions is carried out according to the direction of the Central Government and takes place in a short time, so localities need to pay attention to implementing it in accordance with regulations, each household will send 01 representative to collect opinions, and follow the model in accordance with the Central Government's instructions.
