On April 16, Chairman of Tra Vinh People's Committee Le Van Toi said that the province is organizing the people's opinion on the project of arranging administrative units (DVHC) at the commune level in the province.
According to the project, before arranging, Tra Vinh province had 104 communal units (including: 9 wards, 10 towns and 85 communes). After arranging, Tra Vinh province had 41 communal units (including 6 wards and 35 communes), down 63 communal units, reaching 60.58% compared to the number of communal units before arranged.
Tra Vinh City, after the merger, has 4 wards, of which, establishing Tra Vinh ward on the basis of entering the entire natural area and the population size of the commune level, including: Ward 1, Ward 3 and Ward 9 of Tra Vinh City.
Cang Long district, Cau Ngang district each district has 5 newly established communes. Cau Ke district, Tieu Can district, each district has 4 newly established communes. Tra Cu district has 6 newly established communes.
Duyen Hai district established 3 communes, kept 2 communes Dong Hai and Long Vinh commune. Particularly, Duyen Hai Town established 2 wards and 1 commune.
Chau Thanh district established 3 new communes, Hoa Minh commune and Long Hoa commune to keep the merger.
"All communal administrative units of Tra Vinh province, after arranging, meet the conditions, standards and specific elements of the administrative unit formed after arranged as prescribed," said Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province.
