On January 12, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai (Ben village, Tran Chau commune, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong) discovered a python crawling into his house while cleaning his garden. Mr. Hai then called on the people around to catch and hand over the python to the Inter-district Forest Protection Department.
Immediately after receiving it, the Inter-District Forest Protection Department identified this individual as a Python species, scientific name: Python molurus, group IIB, belonging to the list of endangered, precious, rare forest animals, weighing 14 kg. The Forest Protection Department invited the Veterinary Department to check its health, ensure its health and complete the dossier according to regulations to release it into the natural environment at plot 5, sub-area 4 of the strictly protected subdivision of Cat Ba National Park.
According to the Inter-District Forest Protection Department, the Python is a native species, living and distributed evenly in the communes and towns of Cat Ba Island. Releasing them into the natural environment is suitable for their habitat and living environment.
