Solemn burial ceremony of 80 martyrs' remains in Nghe An

Nghe An - On the morning of May 21, at Nghi Loc Martyrs' Cemetery, a solemn memorial service and burial of 80 sets of remains of martyrs took place.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the National Steering Committee 515; Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi; Major General Le Van Trung - Deputy Political Commissar, Head of Steering Committee 515 Military Region 4 and leaders of Nghe An province.

The ceremony also had the presence of representatives of leaders of the Special Task Force of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun provinces (Laos), along with a large number of relatives of martyrs' families, officers, soldiers and local people.

In the dry season of 2025 - 2026, the Team for Repatriating Martyrs' Remains under the Military Command of Nghe An province has made efforts to overcome countless difficulties, with the coordination and dedicated assistance of all levels of government and people of Lao ethnic groups, searching for and exhuming 80 martyrs' remains who sacrificed in 3 provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun to bring back to their motherland.

At the memorial service, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh presented an eulogy to commemorate and express gratitude to the outstanding children of the nation who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble international duty.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate, performed the ceremony of spreading flowers and burning incense on each grave. After the memorial service, the delegates and relatives moved and saw off 80 martyrs' remains to their final resting place at Nghi Loc Martyrs' Cemetery.

On this occasion, leaders of the National Steering Committee 515, Military Region 4 and Nghe An province presented gifts to the Team for Repatriating Martyrs' Remains of the Provincial Military Command and representatives of the Nghi Loc Martyrs' Cemetery Management Board, recognizing the silent but extremely great contributions in the journey to bring the martyrs back.
