120 houses given to poor households before the New Year

Soc Trang - 120 houses were given to poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties.

On the afternoon of December 24, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province organized a house handover ceremony for poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties in the province.

Attending the event were Mr. Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang province.

In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province coordinated with relevant sectors and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of districts, towns and cities to build and hand over 512 houses to poor households with housing difficulties in the province.

Of these, 120 houses were supported by Soc Trang Lottery Company Limited with the amount of 6 billion VND. Every year, the company also contributes to many social security programs in the province, with a total value of more than 18 billion VND/year.

Speaking at the house handover ceremony, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province - acknowledged the contributions and support of organizations, agencies, units, companies, enterprises, philanthropists and people inside and outside the province to support the construction of houses for poor households, near-poor households and households with housing difficulties.

The leaders of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee requested the Steering Committee for mobilizing support for housing construction for poor households with housing difficulties in the province, departments, branches, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of districts, towns, and cities to effectively implement the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the province in 2025; closely monitor the implementation of support to ensure the right beneficiaries; and not to miss out on beneficiaries who are not considered for support in construction and repair according to regulations.

On this occasion, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Soc Trang province presented gifts to households receiving housing support. Leaders of Soc Trang Lottery Company Limited presented a symbolic board to support the Provincial Fund for the Poor with the amount of 6 billion VND.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province awarded Certificates of Merit to 28 groups and 6 individuals with achievements in contributing to support people in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3.
