On March 11, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police said that the unit had just coordinated with professional forces to successfully dismantle an inter-provincial drug trafficking ring.
After a period of establishing a project, the provincial police force divided into many working groups and simultaneously launched operations. In Hanoi, the working group coordinated with the city police to arrest Vu Huy Loi (residing in Hanoi city), seizing more than 30g of drugs.
At the Northern Bus Station (Dak Lak province), the police force ambushed and caught Luong Hoang Phuc (resident of Tan Lap ward) red-handed when the subject had just transported drugs from Hanoi. At the same time, functional forces arrested Pham Hong Thai (resident of Tan Lap ward) - the ringleader - when Thai was staying at a motel in Tan Lap ward.
Continuing to expand the investigation, the police arrested Le Xuan Thanh (residing in Ea Kao ward), who is a subject specializing in buying drugs from Thai for retail sale.
According to the police agency, Pham Hong Thai operated extremely sophisticatedly, frequently changing his residence and using social networks to carry out drug trafficking in the province and surrounding areas.
Exhibits seized in the case included more than 151g of heroin, 20g of methamphetamine, more than 200 synthetic drug pills and many related items and assets.
Currently, functional agencies have dismantled the above line and continue to investigate and expand.
