According to Lao Dong, from around 5pm, the high tide peak began to rise rapidly, within less than an hour, the Rach Cung road was flooded with water, with the water level rising about 0.4m to 0.5m, reaching more than half a motorbike wheel.

The main reason is that the water from Doi Canal rose, overcame the embankment system and overflowed into the residential area.
The most heavily flooded area is the section near the canal bank near Phu Dinh ferry terminal. The deep flooding and darkness made it difficult for people to move here, a series of motorbikes stalled in the middle of the water, forcing people to get off and walk.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, a resident living here, shared: "Every time there is a high tide, it is miserable, affecting both daily life and travel. Although we are used to it, we still hope to end this situation soon."

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, today, October 9, the water level at most stations will rise, about 5-10 cm above alert level 3.
The meteorological agency warns that high tides are likely to remain high for the next 1-2 days, coinciding with showers in the evening, so the risk of flooding will continue to occur in low-lying areas along rivers and canals. People are advised to proactively raise their belongings and limit travel during peak tides to ensure safety.
