On October 8, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune (Quang Tri province) announced that it had received a notice of the test results of suspected food poisoning samples from the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene - Quang Tri Department of Health.
Based on the Official Dispatch of the Provincial Center for Disease Control and the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang, it is shown: Test results detected (toxic) Bacillus cereus species causing NHE toxins in 1 sample of braised poultry meat and in 1 sample of the disease; 3 food samples and the remaining 11 samples of the disease did not find the disease-causing bacteria. This bacteria often causes poisoning if the food is cooked and left for a long time.
After having the test results, Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee directed specialized departments and offices to inspect and advise on handling according to regulations. The test results are considered an important basis for determining the responsibility of relevant groups and individuals, especially the organization, supervision and operation of the boarding kitchen at the school.
Regarding the termination of the 15-day temporary suspension of Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue - Deputy Principal in charge of the boarding kitchen, the People's Committee of the commune said that it is carefully reviewing and comparing the regulations before making further decisions.
The Quang Tri Department of Health said that after the suspected poisoning incident at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, the unit requested a comprehensive inspection of the quality of food and safety conditions of the boarding kitchens at schools in the area. The summary report will be sent to the province in the coming time to take measures to rectify and prevent similar incidents.
