For nearly two years, the administrative agency of Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province has moved to a new location, with a series of old headquarters that no one is in charge of managing.
That is the headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of the district with no one to look after it, overgrown with weeds. Cloudy worms, grass growing, and moss surrounding the headquarters.
In the premises of the People's Committee of Dong Hai district located in Ganh Hao town, Dong Hai district, specialized agencies such as: Citizen reception office, One-stop-shop, Department of Education and Training; Department of Economic Infrastructure... are also in a state of disrepair.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper on March 25, a buyer in front of the gate said: "There are security guards, but where are you going now? No one is working at this headquarters now".
Located not far from the District People's Committee headquarters, the old headquarters of the Dong Hai District Party Committee located right at the corner of the central road of Ganh Hao town is in a similar situation. The office building has been abandoned over time. No one is working anymore, so the sidewalk is also occupied by many people for trading.
Not only the abandoned headquarters but Ganh Hao Shopping Center, Dong Hai District also has no one coming to buy and sell.
This shopping mall was built and put into use since the end of 2010 with 378 kiosks. However, the current status of the shopping mall is still deserted, with very few traders coming to buy and sell.
The reason is said to be the narrow kiosk, less than 4m2, so it is very difficult to buy and sell.
After 10 years of completion, the shopping mall has seriously degraded. Dong Hai District, Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee has repeatedly announced the relocation of Ganh Hao market traders to this commercial center but has not been successful.
The People's Committee of Dong Hai district said that in 2023, the district administrative agency moved to the new headquarters and handed over the old headquarters to the provincial authorities for management.

In 2022, Ganh Hao town, Dong Hai district, was recognized as a type V urban area. Bac Lieu province strives to turn Ganh Hoa into a type IV urban area from now until 2030.
