The conference was attended by members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; leaders of departments, ministries, branches, central agencies and provinces and cities; representatives of diplomatic agencies, foreign business associations in Vietnam, international guests; domestic and foreign investors and enterprises. Also attending were leaders and former leaders of Bac Lieu province from different periods.
Speaking at the Bac Lieu Provincial Investment Promotion Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that Bac Lieu is a young land with an important strategic position, not only famous for its unique cultural values, but also for its potential, strong position in renewable energy, aquaculture and processing and tourism economy.
In particular, the precious asset of Bac Lieu is the heroic revolutionary tradition. Bac Lieu people have a free and affectionate personality, imbued with Southern character, with the desire to overcome difficulties, and proactively rise up to develop.
From the existing potential along with the aspiration to rise up, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Bac Lieu province have correctly identified their own potential and advantages when choosing development pillars such as high-tech agriculture; renewable energy; tourism and trade, high-quality healthcare, education, marine economy, to become a bright spot on the investment map of Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that Bac Lieu is identified as one of the renewable energy centers, a province with a strong marine economy, high-tech agriculture associated with the seafood processing industry.
To achieve that goal, especially in the context of Bac Lieu in particular and the Mekong Delta region being heavily affected by climate change, rising sea levels, and the impact of exploiting water resources of the Mekong River, Bac Lieu needs to pay attention to developing synchronous infrastructure, linking with localities in the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City; expanding trade with countries in the region.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that in the coming time, Bac Lieu needs to continue exploiting the potential of wind power and solar power. In the green transition era, the issue of carbon will be related to economic fences. When we pay attention to developing a renewable energy economy based on wind power and solar power, Bac Lieu will be a place that does not need to be invited, but the province's brand is clean energy, Bac Lieu's products will be the best certificate to attract domestic and foreign investors.
For investors, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that when coming to Bac Lieu, there must be a commitment to join hands and develop together.
At the conference, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province awarded investment policy decisions and investment registration certificates to 6 investors to implement 9 projects, with a total registered capital of about VND 2,387 billion. Awarded certificates of commitment and investment interest to 17 investors interested in implementing 17 projects, with a total registered capital of VND 83,200 billion.
Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu pledged to cooperate actively, resolve promptly with the highest sense of responsibility; create the most transparent and equal investment environment and will be supported and given the best incentives according to the motto "What is difficult for the government, what is easy for businesses". The success of the enterprise is the development of Bac Lieu.
