Quang Ninh new administrative center will have a square of 100,000 people

Quang Ninh - On the morning of January 3, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee surveyed the deployment of the province's new Administrative Center in Thong Nhat commune, on the banks of Cua Luc Bay.

The planning of Quang Ninh province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 80/QD-TTg dated February 11, 2023, has oriented the expansion of the urban development space of the old Ha Long City, taking Cua Luc Bay as the center of urban development connection according to the multi-polar model, expanding the city to the North.

The old Ha Long City plan until 2040 was approved by the Prime Minister with the orientation of land fund to develop a provincial-level centralized administrative center in the northern area of Cua Luc Bay, gradually moving administrative agencies to the inter-agency area.

To concretize the planning orientations, Quang Ninh province is focusing on implementing research and investment in the new Administrative Center Area in Thong Nhat commune; and at the same time researching the expansion and upgrading of National Highway 279 and building Cua Luc 2 bridge to enhance infrastructure connectivity.

The new Administrative Center is specifically oriented to be invested in to become a model of the whole country, associated with a large-scale central square, with a capacity of about 100,000 people, creating architectural highlights and modern urban space on the banks of Cua Luc Bay.

Surveying the field this morning, Mr. Bui Van Khang - Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the investment in building the new Administrative Center of the province is of particular importance, not only contributing to concretizing the approved planning orientations, but also creating motivation for the development of a modern, synchronous urban space, harmoniously connecting administration - services - ecological landscape in Cua Luc Bay area.

Mr. Khang requested relevant departments, branches, and units to urgently review and complete the planning plan, ensuring overall, long-term, and synchronous technical infrastructure and social infrastructure; in which focusing on architectural, landscape, usability and traffic connectivity factors.

The Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee also noted that the research and implementation process of the project must closely follow the provisions of law, select optimal, effective, and economical investment plans, suitable to the province's potential and development orientation. The goal is to build a new Administrative Center Area to become a new development symbol of Quang Ninh, meeting the requirements of administrative reform, digital transformation, serving people and businesses better and better, gradually forming a modern, civilized, and model administrative center of the country.
