Recorded by Lao Dong on November 8, prolonged thunderstorms caused many streets in the center of Ho Chi Minh City to be deeply flooded. A series of motorbikes stalled, people had to walk and wade through the water in the middle of a long stream of vehicles.
"The rain lasted for more than an hour, the water was everywhere, many vehicles stalled in the middle of the road, and we had to walk a long distance to get out" - Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - a technology car driver shared.

Due to heavy rain in a short period of time, the drainage is slow, causing local congestion at many intersections.
In the Bui Vien area, rising water caused people and tourists to struggle to move. Many foreigners have to move their pants and wade through floodwaters to find shelter, while bars and restaurants along the road have to quickly move their belongings and block the doors to avoid water from flooding in.

Some tourists said they were quite surprised because they had never seen flooding in the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
The western area of the city such as Sinco, Ho Hoc Lam, Le Co, National Highway 1 were also deeply flooded, with water rising nearly half a motorbike's wheel.

Heavy rain combined with high tides in Ho Chi Minh City caused flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers, affecting traffic and socio-economic activities in the area.
