On the evening of November 8, Lao Dong's records showed that prolonged rain caused many roads in Ho Chi Minh City such as 3 Thang 2, Le Hong Phong, An Duong Vuong... to be deeply flooded, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Mr. Bach Tung shared: "The road in February before was rarely flooded, but today I passed right at the time of heavy rain, the water was flowing strongly so I didn't dare to run fast, I had to squeeze onto the side of the road waiting for the rain to stop before daring to continue."

In many areas of central Ho Chi Minh City, prolonged heavy rain caused many sections of the road to be deeply flooded, with some places having water higher than motorbike wheels. The water overflowed onto the side of the road, a series of vehicles stalled, and people had to walk in the middle of the water.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the thunderstorm area is developing and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in all wards/communes of Ben Nghe, Saigon, Ben Thanh, Binh Thanh, Da Kao, Tan Hung, Binh Loi, Tan Tao, Binh Tri Dong, An Khanh...
In the next 1 to 3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in all of the above areas, then expanding to other neighboring areas. Rainfall is generally from 8-40 mm, in some places over 50 mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5-7 (8-17 m/s), heavy rain causing local flooding.
The thunderstorms are caused by the strengthening of the continental cold high pressure. The low pressure trough over the Central region is compressed to the south over the South.
