When the heart of a doctor guides modern medical technology
After more than three decades of practice, Dr. Quach Huu Trung has witnessed thousands of cases of survival, and then shaped a simple but profound concept: "Technology or management is only meaningful when helping patients feel secure, receive timely treatment and have a better quality of life".
With that concern, he continuously initiated pioneering initiatives: establishing the first headache treatment unit in the Central region - where many patients escape from chronic pain for a long time; laying the foundation for sleeping two-ters - a field that is still very new in Vietnam but brings great value in diagnosis and treatment. In the field of rehabilitation and sports medicine, he promoted an advanced model, aiming to form a national reference center, where patients not only have a basic recovery but also fully regain mobility, and even continue to pursue their passion for sports.
These professional initiatives, along with extensive international cooperation with units in Germany, France, Sweden, Taiwan... to bring new technology and AI research in healthcare to Vietnam, have contributed to creating a foundation for a medical model that is both modern and closely linked to the practical needs of patients.
In terms of technology, Dr. Quach Huu Trung is one of the pioneers in implementing international standard electronic medical records, helping to eliminate the burden of paper records and shorten the time for medical examination and treatment. He applied artificial intelligence to imaging diagnosis, improving the accuracy of detecting cardiovascular and respiratory diseases; at the same time, developing hospital management software, transferring it to dozens of units across the country.
He believes: Digital transformation is not for show-off, but to shorten the gap between patients and health care. That philosophy has shaped all of his creations technology or expertise are all based on a common goal: improving the quality of life of patients.
With these contributions, in 2024, Dr. Quach Huu Trung was honored in the category of "Outstanding Digital Transformation Leadership" within the framework of the Digital Government Workshop and the IT Leadership Forum.
Bringing international standard healthcare to people in the Central region
Before holding the position of Director of Vinmec Da Nang, Dr. Quach Huu Trung worked at Hospital 199 (Ministry of Public Security), where he focused on developing cardiology specialties, promoting digital transformation, research and transfer of medical technology. Under his leadership, the hospital has improved its management process, expanded international cooperation, and gradually improved its medical examination and treatment capacity. This is considered a pivotal period that helped him accumulate experience in governance and shape a leadership style combining expertise - technology - humanity.
At Vinmec Da Nang, he brings a clear vision: building this place into a regional medical center that meets international standards, taking patients as the center of care. According to the orientation, the hospital will develop 5 spearhead specialties: cardiology, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, marine medicine & high-pressure oxygen, rehabilitation & sports medicine. At the same time, Vinmec Da Nang also aims to become an attractive medical tourism destination for international visitors, affirming the position of the Central region on the regional medical map.
Dr. Quach Huu Trung emphasized: Patients may not remember the technological name or international certification, but they always need one thing: a sense of safe, personalized and humane care. This is also the orientation that he and Vinmec Da Nang pursue, in order to provide high-quality medical services, suitable for each individual, rich in humanity.
After three decades of working in the profession, Dr. Quach Huu Trung has proven that when medicine, ethics and innovation in blending technology, medicine can create turning points for the community.
