On September 11, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Military Command, the Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains just searched and exhumed 2 martyrs' remains in Nam Pan and Pao Tung villages, Muong Khuong commune.
Previously, from information provided by the people, the unit surveyed, verified and organized searches in areas identified as likely to still have martyrs' remains.
During the search, functional forces discovered 2 sets of martyrs' remains and proceeded to exhume and repatriate them according to regulations.
The remains are then preserved, and related information continues to be reviewed and verified to serve the work of identifying identities.
This is a new result in the "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains".
Since the campaign was launched, the Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains (temporary), Lao Cai Provincial Military Command has searched and exhumed 44 martyrs' remains.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Khac Truong, Political Commissar of the Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains, the unit will continue to coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, agencies, units and people to review, collect, and verify information; and expand the search area.
The search and repatriation of martyrs' remains is identified as a task of profound humanitarian significance, contributing to bringing the martyrs back to their comrades, homeland and families.
