On February 13, Quang Trach Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that recently there were 2 consecutive accidents when people hung decorative lights and flags in front of their houses during Tet, causing 1 death and 1 injury.
At about 9 am on February 13, Mr. D.M. S (born 1965, residing in Thanh Binh village, Quang Trach commune), while hanging lanterns to decorate his house, unfortunately slipped and fell. Although taken to the emergency room by relatives, due to severe injuries accompanied by underlying medical conditions, the victim died on the same evening.
Previously, on February 9, also in Thanh Binh village, Mr. D.V. N (born 1972) fell while hanging the flag in front of his house, leading to 3 broken ribs and had to be hospitalized for treatment.
Functional agencies recommend that people ensure safety conditions, use sturdy ladders, and have support when hanging lights and flags to prevent unfortunate accidents.
