Stop playing and cancel the results of Phu Tho Club's matches in the Second Division

The organizing committee of the National Second Division decided to stop playing and cancel the results of the matches of Phu Tho club, after a penalty from FIFA related to negativity.

Recently, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially issued a notice related to the case of Phu Tho club in the 2025 National Second Division.

The notice clearly stated: "The Organizing Committee of the National Football Tournament 2025 received the decision of the Discipline Committee of the World Football Federation about the Phu Tho Club related to the acts of arranging the score in the matches and football tournament; Phu Tho Club will be eliminated from the National Second National Football Tournament 2025 and have to play in the national third third division in the next season.

Based on the disciplinary decision of the FIFA Discipline Committee, the Organizing Committee of the notice of stopping the competition for the Phu Tho Club at the National Second -class Football League since the 5th match on 3.5.2025 under the decision of the FIFA Discipline Committee.

The results of the matches that have taken place between Phu Tho club and the teams in the 2025 National Second Division Football Tournament will be canceled".

Thus, the match between Phu Tho club and Tre Ha Noi taking place at 4:00 p.m. today (May 3) according to the original schedule will be canceled. Meanwhile, the remaining matches of the tournament will still take place according to the issued schedule.

The tournament organizing committee will report to the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation to handle the above incident according to regulations.

Previously, on the evening of May 2, FIFA announced that Phu Tho club would be expelled from the Vietnam Second Division Football Tournament and relegated to the Third Division for manipulating the match results. FIFA said the clubs had been notified and had 10 days to appeal the decision.
