On the afternoon of September 11, information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Hanoi City Police said that from September 3 to September 9, traffic police and commune-level police in Hanoi handled 1,111 cases of students and parents violating Traffic Order and Safety (TTATGT).
Accordingly, implementing the plan of Hanoi City Police on strengthening propaganda and handling parents and students who violate traffic safety and order in the city, the traffic police force coordinates with commune-level police to strengthen propaganda, patrol, and control, focusing on handling violations that are direct causes leading to the risk of traffic unsafety for students.
Among 1,211 cases, the traffic police force handled 1,074 cases, commune-level police handled 137 cases; the estimated fine amount is more than 1.029 billion VND.
Analysis of violations shows that violations related to helmets still account for a large number. Functional forces have handled 866 cases of students violating helmet regulations and 164 cases of parents violating helmet regulations.
In addition, functional forces handled 126 cases of not being old enough to drive vehicles, 21 cases of handing over vehicles to people who are not qualified to drive, 12 cases of carrying more people than prescribed, 10 cases of not complying with traffic lights, 1 case of going against traffic and 2 cases of parents stopping and parking vehicles in violation of regulations.
Violations are strictly handled according to regulations. The list of violating students is statistically compiled and notified to schools for coordination and management measures.
Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommends that parents strictly comply with the provisions of law on traffic order and safety; absolutely do not hand over vehicles to people who are not old enough or do not meet the conditions to drive.
Students when participating in traffic must wear helmets in accordance with regulations, comply with the road traffic sign system and traffic rules.
In the coming time, the traffic police force and commune-level police in Hanoi will continue to strengthen propaganda, inspection, and handling of violations related to students, and at the same time coordinate with schools and families to raise awareness of law compliance on traffic order and safety, contributing to preventing traffic accidents and building a safe traffic environment for students.
