Provincial road 153 section from Bac Ha commune to the center of Ban Lien commune (phase 2) is one of the key traffic projects in the 2025 - 2026 period.
The project is about 13km long, with a total investment of more than 127.5 billion VND. The road is designed to meet the standards of level V mountain roads, the roadbed and surface are 6.5m wide, and the road surface is asphalt concrete.
Along with that is the drainage ditch system, retaining walls, works to ensure traffic safety and handle many complex taluy positions.
Recorded at the construction site on March 10, many construction fronts are being deployed simultaneously.
The contractor has mobilized excavators, rollers, material transport vehicles and many workers to work continuously to speed up the progress of roadbed items and concrete and taluy components.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Luong Van Kien - official of the Bac Ha Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board said that so far localities have handed over about 6.5 km of land to construction units.
On the handed-over area, the contractor is focusing on constructing the roadbed, embankments, drainage culverts and precast concrete components.
The remaining part strives to complete site clearance before March 31, 2026.
According to Mr. Kien, a part of the project passes through the protection forest area. The Bac Ha Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board has coordinated with the Lao Cai Provincial Forest Protection Department to develop a plan to recover the forest and submit it to the Provincial People's Council for consideration.
We are completing complete legal documents so that forest recovery and land allocation are carried out in accordance with regulations, avoiding affecting the overall progress of the project," Mr. Kien said.
According to the contract, the construction package will be implemented in about 600 days, from August 2025 and is expected to be completed in March 2027.
Mr. Le Hai Quang - Site Commander, Hoang Nguyen Construction Investment Co., Ltd. - said that the unit has arranged manpower and equipment ready to be reinforced as soon as the site is handed over more.
As soon as we receive the new site, we will organize more parallel construction teams, mobilize more machinery and manpower to ensure progress. This is an important project of the locality, so the unit determines to focus maximum resources to complete the commitment with the investor," Mr. Quang informed.
Also according to Mr. Quang, in the initial phase, the construction site mainly deployed weathering, excavation and embankment of the roadbed, construction of box culverts, longitudinal ditches and embankment wall positions. When the roadbed is stable, the unit will switch to asphalt concrete paving and complete the traffic safety system.
Provincial road 153 passes through many villages where the Tay, Dao, and Mong ethnic people have lived for a long time. Over the past time, commune authorities have organized people's meetings and propagated the meaning of the project to create consensus in site clearance work.
Thanks to that, most households in the project area supported and were ready to hand over land and dismantle auxiliary works to serve construction.
When completed, the road will form an important connecting axis between Bac Ha, Ban Lien, and Ta Cu Ty communes, contributing to promoting tourism, agriculture and trade in goods, especially with the Ban Lien organic tea region.
