On August 27, Binh Duong Ward People's Committee (HCMC) organized information about the project and consulted people about the route plan for the urban railway project No. 1 (Binh Duong - Suoi Tien new city railway line) section passing through the ward.
According to Binh Duong Ward People's Committee, this is an important preparation step to receive community opinions, contributing to completing the investment plan and ensuring the suitability and effectiveness of the project when implemented in practice.
The urban railway line No. 1 project has a total length of about 30.66 km. The project starts from the center of the new Binh Duong city (Binh Duong ward) and connects to Suoi Tien (Dong Hoa ward). This project aims to form an inter-regional public transport axis between Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas.
According to the expected plan, the entire route will pass through 7 wards, including Binh Duong, Phu Loi, Thuan Giao, An Phu, Tan Dong Hiep, Di An and Dong Hoa; the railway line has 19 elevated stations, 1 depot in Binh Duong ward and 1 train parking lot in Dong Hoa ward.
The line uses 1,435 mm gauge, scattered dynamic train (EMU), 1,500V DC power supply via overhead power system (OCS) and CBTC signal system.

In Binh Duong ward, the railway line is about 9.78 km long, built above ground, with 7 stations and 1 depot.
In which, Phu Chanh Depot has a scale of about 22 hectares, located near Phu Chanh Industrial Cluster and Binh Duong Specialized Mental Hospital. The project is planned to integrate a dispatch center, a ship parking area and a repair and maintenance workshop.
S1 station - central station is designed with 3 floors, on an area of about 0.98 hectares, in the A1 roundabout area. The station is expected to connect with a commercial center, multi-purpose gymnasium and public bus system, creating favorable conditions for people to access public transport.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at the end of July 2026, units began to carry out geological survey drilling to build urban railway line No. 1 in the new city area of Binh Duong. In addition, local People's Committees are collecting opinions from people to consolidate project implementation dossiers.
