On July 18, Thuan An Ward People's Committee (HCMC) said that the ward has organized a conference to collect community consultation opinions on the route direction and location of the urban railway line No. 2 project (Thu Dau Mot - HCMC - section passing through the former Binh Duong province).
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quan - Vice Chairman of Thuan An Ward People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the conference were representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Construction Project Management Board, along with people in the area where the project passes through. At the conference, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Construction Project Management Board unit provided detailed information to people about the project, its importance and scale.
After hearing information about the project, households participating in the consultation session all expressed high agreement with the investment policy, scope, route direction as well as the location of works under the project.

People hope that the project will be implemented soon on schedule so that local transport infrastructure is increasingly complete and synchronized, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development and improving the quality of life of people in the area.
It is known that urban railway line No. 2 is nearly 32 km long. The land use demand of the project is about 68 ha. Site clearance is carried out on a double-track scale for both elevated and underground sections. Implementation time from 2026 - 2030.
The project has its starting point at S5 station (belonging to Urban Railway Line No. 1 Binh Duong - Suoi Tien), Binh Duong ward, near Phu My ward Sports Center. The ending point is Tao Dan station (belonging to Urban Railway Line No. 2 HCMC), Ben Thanh ward, at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Cach Mang Thang Tam intersection.
It is expected that urban railway line No. 2 will have 24 stations (13 underground stations, 11 elevated stations), including 8 transshipment stations. Construction of 1 Hiep Binh Phuoc Depot with a scale of about 33 hectares in Tam Binh ward, Hiep Binh (HCMC). The project is synchronously invested in train, electrical, telecommunications, signal and automatic toll collection systems.
