As one of the key transport projects of Thai Nguyen province, the DT.261 - DT.266 route connecting Phu Binh district with Pho Yen city has a total length of 2km, with a total investment of 736 billion VND, equivalent to more than 350 billion VND/km.
The project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in 2023, with the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.

The project has a cross-section of 47m wide, of which the section through Phu Binh district is 1.5km long, the rest is in Pho Yen city.
The starting point of the route intersects with DT.261 at Km47+350.54, the end point connects with DT.266 in Diem Thuy commune (Phu Binh), where large industrial parks are being formed and there is an increasing demand for infrastructure connection.
On June 9, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that after many years of implementation, the project has been basically completed. The entire route has been paved with asphalt, making it easy for people and vehicles to travel.
Items such as tree systems, curbs, road painting, lighting equipment... have been completed in many sections. The sidewalk item is currently under urgent construction.
According to the report, some major items have reached over 90% of the volume: roadbed over 92.81%, road foundation over 93.3%, asphalt pavement over 59.26%.
The Kenh Bridge project on the route is more than 87.51% complete. Supporting items such as trees, sidewalks, drainage, traffic safety, technical cars, etc. have also reached more than 72.42%.

Having a house near the project, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh (Phu Binh) said that before, when the project had not been implemented, every time she went to the district center or to Pho Yen city, she had to go far, which was very difficult.
"When the project was first implemented, the people were very supportive, because when the project was completed, it would not only make travel very convenient, saving travel time but also contribute to the economic development and livelihoods of households living along the road," said Ms. Tinh.
Information from the People's Committee of Diem Thuy commune (Phu Binh), to deploy the route through the area, more than 4.4 hectares of land must be cleared, affecting 83 households.
When completed, the route will become an axis directly connecting industrial parks with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway and the old National Highway 3, opening up room for urban and industrial development in the southern area of Thai Nguyen province.
