The leaders of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province assigned the Department of Finance this afternoon (November 3) to allocate 100 billion VND supported by the Central Government to ensure funding for localities and units to proactively overcome the consequences of floods.
Faced with the severe damage, Mr. Do Tam Hien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, requested the Provincial Civil Defense Command, departments and branches, especially the Provincial Military Command, to closely coordinate in the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods. Units need to fully and accurately update the damage situation, especially in terms of people and property, to advise the Provincial People's Committee on timely support plans.

The Department of Finance was assigned to allocate 100 billion VND with central support this afternoon (November 3) to ensure resources for localities and units to proactively overcome the consequences of floods. At the same time, the allocation of relief rice to localities must be completed this afternoon (November 3), no later than tomorrow morning (November 4).
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment in coordination with the Department of Construction is assigned to develop a process for declaring emergency situations regarding natural disasters, submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and announcement before November 6. The Provincial People's Committee requires communes and wards to focus all their efforts on overcoming the consequences of floods, in which priority is given to the opening of main traffic routes for people to travel conveniently and safely.
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai province, as of yesterday afternoon (November 2), the whole province recorded 8 injuries, 23 houses were completely collapsed, 93 houses were damaged and more than 5,440 houses were deeply submerged in water due to floods.
In addition, 28 schools, 2 medical stations and 2 cultural houses were severely damaged; about 277 hectares of rice and 541 hectares of agricultural land were silted and destroyed; nearly 5,600 livestock and poultry died or were swept away.
The traffic system in the province is also seriously affected. More than 250 landslides, rocks and soil spilled onto the road, filling drainage ditches along national highways and provincial roads. 287 commune roads are severely damaged, many places cannot be repaired. The total damage in the whole province is estimated at more than 850 billion VND.
