Today (April 30), the first day of the holiday, the volume of vehicles from the center of Ho Chi Minh City pouring into the eastern gateway increased sharply, causing Mai Chi Tho Avenue and surrounding roads to be seriously congested.

Real-world records show that the crowded flow of vehicles moving from the city center to the eastern gateway to the provinces. On Mai Chi Tho road, the section from the Saigon River tunnel towards An Phu intersection, a long line of cars lined up, moving very slowly.

Especially, in the An Phu intersection area, the underpass has been blocked in one direction from Mai Chi Tho to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway access road. This lane closing causes traffic pressure to accumulate, leading to prolonged traffic jams for kilometers. Meanwhile, in the opposite direction from the expressway to the city center, vehicles are still moving normally.

Not only Mai Chi Tho Avenue, surrounding roads such as Nguyen Thi Dinh and the intersection area with Dong Van Cong street also fell into a tight traffic jam. Cars lined up in long rows, patiently moving little by little in the sun of the first day of the holiday.

Mr. Hoang Nam (resident of Phu Dinh ward) shared: "I planned to take my family to Vung Tau for the holiday, so I started early. However, just after passing Thu Thiem tunnel, the cars had to line up. It's really tiring to start the holiday with such a long traffic jam.

Currently, functional forces are actively regulating traffic at hotspots, but it is predicted that the number of vehicles will still maintain at a high level throughout today.
