The accident on the Quang Tri flood avoidance route, vehicles rushed to National Highway 1, causing a congestion of about 5km.

On July 6, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh commune (Quang Tri province) said that a traffic accident occurred on a flood avoidance route in the province, causing a traffic jam on National Highway 1 about 5km in both directions.

After the traffic accident on the flood avoidance road in the early morning of the same day, the authorities temporarily guided vehicles to move onto National Highway 1.

However, the number of vehicles pouring into National Highway 1 was too large, causing the road from Quan Hau bridge to Dinh Muoi (Quang Ninh commune) to continue to be seriously congested.

Currently, the authorities are urgently diverting traffic to ensure safe and smooth traffic.

As of noon of the same day, traffic regulation work was still underway to soon relieve the congestion on this vital route.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 1:00 a.m. on July 6, at the flood avoidance route of Quang Tri province through Tay village (Quang Ninh commune), container trucks and trucks traveling in the wrong direction suddenly faced each other in person and caught fire fiercely.

The collision resulted in 1 person dying on the spot, the other person being seriously injured and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Immediately after receiving the report, the authorities quickly arrived to put out the fire, protect the scene and investigate the cause of the incident.
