According to initial information, at the above time, the two grandparents and granddaughter L.H. Y (born 2021, residing in Tan Thanh commune) were riding a motorbike in the direction of Phan Thiet - Phan Rang.
When arriving at the above location, a collision occurred with a motorbike with license plate 77E1-681.74 traveling in the same direction.
The collision caused the two motorbikes to fall to the road. Baby Y was thrown into the middle of the road. At this moment, a tractor-trailer with license plate 37R-034. 81 traveling behind in the same direction came and ran over the baby. The victim died on the spot.
At the time of the accident, the traffic volume on National Highway 1 was very large because people were moving back to their hometowns for Tet.
Ham Kiem Commune Police quickly arrived, regulating traffic through the area, avoiding prolonged congestion.
The Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with professional units to conduct scene examination and autopsy to clarify the cause of the accident.
Functional forces also took statements from related people, verifying whether or not other vehicles were involved in the collision between the two motorbikes.
