On the morning of January 19, before the opening ceremony of the preparatory session of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Congress XIV), Party and State leaders and delegates attending the Congress visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.
The delegation included General Secretary To Lam; Politburo members: President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
Also attending were Politburo members, Secretariat members, Central Committee members, and delegates attending the 14th Party Congress.




On the morning of January 19, the 14th Party Congress began the first working day, with the participation of 1,586 delegates, representing more than 5 million Party members of the Party.
After nearly 96 years of the Party leading the Vietnamese revolution, through 13 Congresses, each Congress is an important milestone, bringing the country through difficulties and achieving great achievements.
The 14th Congress is even more profound because this is the Congress that opens the door to bring the Vietnamese nation into a new era - an era in which Vietnam is determined to realize "2 100-year goals" which are 100 years of Party establishment and 100 years of State establishment.
Strive to become a developed country with high income by 2045; for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism.
