Since being discovered by the eye-catching people at intersections, Ho Chi Minh City's traffic has changed positively compared to before. The situation of motorbikes and cars blocking the right turn when red lights used to cause congestion has now gradually improved. However, according to Lao Dong's records at many intersections and at many time frames, not all locations are strictly complied with and not all times have violations.
At the Le Duan - Ton Duc Thang intersection, although the rush hour is over, vehicles must turn easily, not being blocked by the line of vehicles waiting for lights. The long line of motorbikes still proactively leaves a space right at the line, creating a separate path for vehicles turning right.
At the Pasteur - Ly Tu Trong intersection or Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, many people also consciously squeezed out of the hammock line, giving way to other vehicles to circulate, but there were still a few people pressing up within the hammock line.

In contrast to that situation, some other intersections still have cross-line situations, especially at intersections with many vehicles such as Cach Mang Thang Tam - Dien Bien Phu, one of the areas that are often crowded with traffic in Ho Chi Minh City. Many drivers still encroach on the line, despite regulations, causing the turn to be blocked, causing long traffic congestion.
Mr. Duong Huu Chi (formerly living in District 3) said that during rush hour, everyone wants to go quickly, just one vehicle stopping in the wrong location will all the vehicles behind be crowded together.
"Sometimes I can't avoid it because I'm out of place," said Mr. Chi.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hoang The Toan (formerly living in District 7) shared that since the eye line was put in place, traffic has been improved somewhat.
I always try not to enter the hammock line if I dont turn right, but I have also witnessed traffic jams at intersections many times because the people ahead are pushing the line, blocking all the right turn. Some people do not know if they will be fined if they cross the line, some do not intentionally, because the road is narrow and there are many vehicles, Mr. Toan shared.

The standard hammock line is painted yellow, intertwined, signaling that drivers are not allowed to stop, only allowed to run through. The hammock line is considered one of the effective solutions to limit congestion at intersections.
In case the driver does not comply, he/she will be fined for crossing the line according to the appropriate fine according to Decree 168. According to regulations, violators are fined 400,000 - 600,000 VND for cars, 200,000 - 400,000 VND for motorbikes.
For these positive changes to continue to spread, it is necessary for each person to be self-conscious when participating in traffic. When everyone proactively leaves the road, traffic can be more open, safe and civilized.
