Mr. Ha Thanh Hung (Hanoi) shared on the Government Electronic Information Portal, in case of moving in a lane with a tangle but there is no signal light allowing a turn or an additional sign allowing the vehicle to turn right, should the driver stop or move away from the line?
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Construction responded as follows:
The hammock-shaped lines are specified in the National Technical Regulation QCVN 41: 2024/BGTVT on road signaling, effective from January 1, 2025).
Accordingly, the hammock-shaped line is used to remind drivers not to stop vehicles within the road surface to avoid traffic congestion.
Use hammock-shaped lines in appropriate locations (intersections for handling black spots for traffic accidents, potential traffic accident points, intersections with railways, school gates, hospitals, medical centers, administrative centers).
The hammock- style line can be used to determine the prohibited stopping range within the same level, on the entrance or exit branch of the intersection or locations on the road where stopping is not allowed.
Depending on the width and narrow clearance of the intersection, arranging hammock-shaped lines to ensure balance and aesthetics.
For routes in Hanoi City, the traffic organization plan of the intersections is managed and exploited by the Hanoi Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction) and the City's functional agencies.
The Ministry of Construction recommends that Mr. Hung contact the Department of Construction to provide specific feedback on the location of the intersection and the route for review and support in specifically reviewing the traffic organization situation.
