On the afternoon of March 24, the seminar " Press and media participate in building elegant and civilized Hanoians" was held at Hanoi Electricity Corporation.
The forum aims to create a forum for exchanging, sharing practical experiences and proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of communication work in building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
According to journalist Nguyen Manh Hung - Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper, Hanoi - the Capital of a thousand years of culture, is not only the political, economic and cultural center of the country but also a symbol of national quintessence, a place to converge and spread traditional cultural values.
Through many historical ups and downs, Hanoians have always been mentioned for their noble qualities: lichency, civilization, kindness, intelligence and responsibility. Those values not only create the unique identity of the capital but also the pride of every child of Hanoi.
As a strategic guiding agency, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee has always directed closely and promptly, helping the capital press to promote its role in preserving and spreading the good values of Hanoians, contributing to building a civilized and modern capital - journalist Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized.
At the seminar, Colonel and journalist Do Phu Tho, former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, said that as a forum for the People, the press has always closely followed reality, reflected the movement process of life, promptly grasped and brought the thoughts and aspirations of the people of the capital to the leaders of the Party, State and Hanoi city.
On the other hand, the people demonstrate their trust in the press agency through practical actions such as detecting and fighting negativity through the press.
"People trust and increasingly turn to the press forum, thereby giving the press the conditions to properly orient public opinion; contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in agencies under the city in the culture of communication and behavior; promoting the fine cultural traditions of the capital, building a civilized and modern city" - Mr. Do Phu Tho said.
According to Dr. Journalist Dong Manh Hung, Head of the Secretariat, Voice of Vietnam, for press agencies and journalists (not only in Hanoi), propaganda about building elegant Hanoians must be considered one of the important tasks and contents.
In fact, the topic of elegant Hanoians also has many attractive approaches from tradition, from customs and practices to real examples, real deeds...
In the strong development trend of digital technology, press agencies need to study and distribute press works and communication products about elegant Hanoians on online platforms to provide multimedia communication content such as short videos, infographics, podcasts, making it easy for people to access and practice.
However, authorities also need to take measures to control and prevent unofficial media channels from posting false information and images or individuals who defame or misunderstand elegant Hanoians.
Concluding the Conference, journalist Kieu Thanh Hung, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Journalists Association, said that the seminar affirmed the role of the press not only as a channel for practical reflection but also plays an important role in orienting, educating, inspiring and promoting positive change in society.
