Journalism and media industry attracts many candidates
For many years, the field of media and journalism has always attracted a large number of candidates to apply. The clearest proof is the picture of the benchmark scores of the press and media sector in recent years.
For example, in the 2024 admission season, with the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the Multimedia Communication major has the highest benchmark score of the Academy of Journalism and Communication with 28.25 points (on a 30-point scale) in the C15 combination (Literature, Mathematics and Social Sciences), an average of 9.41 points/ freshman major. Next is the Mass Communications major, also in this group, with 28.05 points.
Or at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the journalism major is also sky-high with 29.03 points for C00.
The Journalism major of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University also takes up to 28.8 points for C00.
At Thang Long University, the Multimedia Communication major has the highest benchmark score for all methods, up to 26.23 points, with the method of combining high school graduation exam scores and international English certificates.
Or at the Vietnam Women's Academy, the benchmark score for the Multimedia Communication major in 2024 is 26 points.

Open job opportunities
Currently, the merger, consolidation and streamlining of the apparatus is being carried out. This makes many students and parents wonder that after streamlining, the job opportunities of students in journalism and media will be affected.
As a senior student, Ngoc Anh (Thanh Hoa) is researching and wishing to take the entrance exam to the Academy of Journalism and Communication or the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. However, my family advised me to consider job opportunities after graduation.
In response to students and parents' concerns about job opportunities in the fields of journalism and communication, Dr. Nguyen Phi Long - Head of Training Department of the Vietnam Women's Academy said that studying journalism and communication in the field of journalism is only one of the industry's output standards.
Mr. Long assessed that in the digital age, the field of multimedia communication in all aspects of social life, so the wide range of job opportunities does not stop at the field of journalism, so candidates who love this major can rest assured about job opportunities.
"In fact, students studying journalism and media can find a job that suits their abilities and strengths right before graduation" - Mr. Long said.
Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Nhan - Head of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Thang Long University commented that in such a general context, schools and students must adapt and equip themselves with sufficient skills to meet the requirements of employers.

For example, at Thang Long University, Ms. Nhan said that students studying Multimedia Communications will be trained in 3 main directions: photography; design; filming from basic to advanced. In particular, they are allowed to practice up to 80% of their studies, ensuring that they meet the requirements of the labor market.
Ms. Nhan noted that studying Multimedia Communications is interesting but not easy, requiring students to be truly passionate about pursuing.
"C must be confident and adaptive if they love this major. In fact, in admission, many students choose majors according to the "trend", the majority are the main ones. Therefore, grade 12 students should pay attention, need to know what they like and where their abilities are before deciding to choose a major or school" - Ms. Nhan said.
