On October 23, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held the inauguration ceremony of the urban water collection, treatment and drainage project in Phu My town, invested from ODA capital and provincial budget counterpart capital.
The project officially started in 2019 with a total investment of VND 818.4 billion. Of which, ODA funding from the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is nearly 10 million Euros (about 30.73%); and the provincial budget counterpart fund is about VND 566.9 billion (about 69.27%).
With a system including My Xuan wastewater treatment plant and many other important items such as: pumping station; trash screen and grease trap; contact and mixing tank; pumping and electricity system; 64,766m long sewer system with 5,000 manholes, the project will collect all wastewater of Phu My town area and treat it with a capacity of 29,700 m3/day and night. Thereby ensuring that the output wastewater meets column A according to Vietnamese standards, thoroughly solving the wastewater drainage for Phu My during the urbanization process.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, when the project is put into operation, it will contribute to solving urban pollution, creating favorable conditions for the future development planning of Phu My, towards the sustainable development of Phu My in particular and Ba Ria - Vung Tau in general.
