Recorded on March 9, the Tan Van intersection construction site under the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project is being deployed simultaneously with many important items.
Concrete bridge pillars of the main route have been basically completed. Many sections have been paved with girders and concrete pavement has been poured, preparing to cross National Highway 1.

In some other locations, construction units are still installing bridge pillars, scaffolding and formwork to prepare girders for the approach bridge spans up and down the intersection.
Underneath the project, materials and equipment are gathered to serve the construction of the parallel road.

Tan Van intersection has a total length of about 2.4 km, with a total investment of more than 1,831 billion VND, directly connected to many important traffic routes in the East such as National Highway 1, Metro Line No. 1 (extended to Binh Duong and Dong Nai), Ring Road 3, provincial road 743 and My Phuoc - Tan Van Avenue.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (the investor), there are currently nearly 260 personnel and about 90 machines and equipment mobilized for construction at the construction site.
Contractors are deploying 17 simultaneous construction fronts, with the actual volume reaching about 50% of the total contract value.

Ho Chi Minh City strives to complete and open Tan Van intersection to traffic on June 30, and put it into operation along with the entire Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, at the end of December 2025, the 14.7 km long elevated Ring Road 3 East section, from Tan Van intersection to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway intersection, was technically opened to traffic and is expected to be officially put into operation on April 30, 2026.
When Tan Van intersection is completed on June 30, this area will open a new traffic direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai. People can move from Tan Van intersection to the elevated Ring Road 3, through Nhon Trach bridge to connect with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway.
This connection route is expected to contribute to reducing traffic pressure for the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, which is often overloaded.

However, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Tan Van intersection project still faces some difficulties.
In the main high-voltage bridge abutment area, there is still a high-voltage power pole and a medium-voltage underground power system at pier P8A that have not been relocated, affecting the construction progress.
In addition, the organization of traffic diversion also faces many obstacles because this area has a large volume of vehicles entering and leaving warehouses and ports, and congestion often occurs.
The scarcity of materials has caused prices of stone, crushed stone, cement concrete and transportation costs to increase.
One unit in the contractor consortium has not met the construction progress of the parallel road, causing a lack of land to deploy the existing National Highway 1 overpass.

On March 9, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh directly inspected the construction progress at Tan Van intersection.

Mr. Tran Hong Minh requested units to continue to focus maximum manpower, equipment and resources, organize scientific construction to accelerate the progress of the remaining items, strive to close and complete the entire intersection by June 30 to ensure synchronous connection.
The Minister of Construction also rectified some contractors whose implementation is still slow, requesting urgent remediation, strengthening human resources and machinery to avoid affecting the overall progress of the project.
