Long crack appears on hill, evacuate people to ensure safety

Ha Tinh - A 150m long crack appeared on a hill in Son Kim 2 commune, so the local authorities evacuated households below to ensure safety.

On the morning of November 16, Mr. Tran Quang Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Kim 2 commune - said that after discovering the crack on the hill in Quyet Thang village, the locality evacuated 2 households with 8 people at the bottom of the hill to avoid the risk of landslides, and at the same time put up signs prohibiting the road.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 15, people discovered a serious crack and subsidence on the hill in Quyet Thang village. The crack is about 150m long, has sunk 80cm, and has sunk up to 1m in some places.

Immediately afterwards, they reported to the local authorities for a handling plan.

Checking the scene, realizing a high risk of landslides, the authorities of Son Kim 2 commune mobilized forces to set up barriers, prohibit the road through the hill with cracks and evacuate 2 households to ensure safety.
