According to the report of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Ha Tinh province, as of 5:00 p.m. on August 24, coastal communes have evacuated 3,785 households/9,345 people.
Of which, the major evacuated communes include: Thien Cam has evacuated 1,439 households/4,342 people; Loc Ha has evacuated 374 households/1,010 people; Dan Hai has evacuated 348 households/625 people...
For communes at risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides, 187 households/427 people have been evacuated. Of which, Ky Hoa commune has evacuated 97 households/156 people; Son Kim 2 has evacuated 69 households/213 people; Phuc Trach has evacuated 21 households/58 people.
Depending on the conditions of storms and floods, localities continue to review to direct and focus forces to support the evacuation of people in dangerous areas to safe shelters.

To prevent the storm, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province has also issued a document directing 67,000 students in grades 1, 9 and 12 to be off school on August 25 (the day the storm made landfall). Then, depending on the weather and floods, students can continue to have a day off.
In Ha Tinh province, there are 3,984 vehicles with 10,854 workers, up to now, all boats are anchored at the wharves.
Currently, 4 reservoirs are overflowing, including: Song Trac Lake with a flow of 20 m3/s; Boc Nguyen Lake with a flow of 10 m3/s; Kim Son Lake with a flow of 05 m3/s; Thuong Song Tri Lake with a flow of 10 m3/s.
According to weather forecasts, Ha Tinh is in the area directly affected by storm No. 5.
Due to the impact of storm No. 5, it is forecasted that from the evening of August 24 to the end of August 26, Ha Tinh province will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Total rainfall in common areas is 200 - 400 mm, in some places over 600 mm.
