On March 12, social networks spread a clip extracted from security cameras recording the incident that happened at 12:38 pm on the same day, on the sidewalk in front of the electrical and plumbing store at 448 Trung Nu Vuong street (Hoa Cuong ward, Da Nang city).
According to images from the camera, a man had just finished shopping and was leading his motorbike on the sidewalk. When this customer had just moved the motorbike for a short distance, the sidewalk paving suddenly collapsed, forming a large deep hole.
The incident happened in just a few short seconds. Because the man had left the collapsed position just before, he was lucky not to fall into the hole. According to the store owner, if he had been a second late, this man might have been in danger.

At the scene, the subsidence pit is about 1.2m wide and about 1m long. Below the subsidence location is a drainage system. The concrete panel covering the sewer lid below has broken in half, causing the sidewalk structure above to lose its support and collapse completely.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the store owner proactively used ropes to stretch around the area to warn people to avoid moving close to the dangerous deep hole.
Leaders of Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee said that they have received feedback from people. Currently, local authorities are coordinating with relevant units to handle and overcome the sidewalk damage incident on Trung Nu Vuong street.
